January's Designer Projects

Melissa, Jessica and Lisa really started things off with a Huge Bang with these spectacular projects!

This Beautiful set by Melissa is perfect for Valentine's Day. Melissa used the Square Tin with the clear lid and tied it with gorgeous Double-sided Satin ribbon. The mini Jenni Bowlin Spring Picnic paper looks beautiful on the bottom of the tin and Melissa used a coordinating Journaling Notecard as the Greeting Card. She embellished it with Fancy Pants Die-Cut wings, a Scalloped Circle and Alphabet stickers from Cosmo Cricket's Little Girl Collection. Absolutely Gorgeous!

Lisa created a Stunning Gift Box with a
Medium Gable Box covered
in paper from the Samantha Line by Crate Paper. She cut out some flowers from the paper to use as embellishments and printed "Thanks" from her computer on a Jenni Bowlin Scalloped Notecard. Lisa transfered the Heart-Felt Rub-on to matching cardstock and put it all together with beautiful Blue sheer May Arts Ribbon. Amazing Gift!

Jessica made the most Adorable Baby Ensemble I've ever seen. She decorated a Gift Card Tin in the Baby Bee line by Crate Paper and made a matching Diaper Bag Tag from the Cosmo Cricket Alpha Buttons. Jessica's Baby Frame is embellished with the Baby Bee coordinating Rub-On Transfers and May Arts Ribbon. Sweet Set!

Meet Jessica Witty

She's stylish, adorable and creates cards that Hallmark should envy but thankfully, she's agreed to share her designs with Emma's Paperie!

Jessica is a southern girl, born in Oklahoma and raised both there and in Texas. She still lives just a few minutes from her hometown near Dallas. Jessica graduated from Texas A&M University in 2001 and married her husband, Brian, that year as well. They have 2 sons – Eli, who is 3 ½ years old, and Zeke, who arrived on her birthday almost 4 months ago!

Jessica worked as a script editor for a radio ministry broadcast worldwide until this year. She is now staying at home with the boys and paper crafting in all the spare time that two small children leave her (ha!). A friend of Jessica’s introduced her to stamping 6 years ago… all of her stamped cards and gifts were beautiful and inspiring and made Jessica want to do it herself! “I never would have considered myself to be artistic in any way before that because I thought that to be artistic, one must be able to draw or paint… I can’t do either!” Jessica says. She was immediately drawn to stamping and paper crafting because it’s something everyone can do. Stamping and creating cards are really her first love and what she enjoys creating the most. Jessica is drawn to designs that are on the clean, simple, and graphic side.

You can see her work in publications such as Paper Crafts, CARDS, Crafts n Things, etc. She is currently a designer for Paper Salon. If Jessica is not crafting or hanging with the family, she is probably working with their church youth group, junking or antiquing (really… aren’t they the same thing?), beating her friends at Texas Hold ‘Em, or running (she is hoping to complete another half marathon this year! – GO Jessica!).

Meet Lisa Dorsey

She's sweet, her designs are amazing and I'm lucky to have her on the Paperie Design Team!

Lisa was born and raised in Wisconsin. She attended Carroll College and that is where she met her husband, Greg. His job took them to Dallas, Texas and far from home. Wanting to get their children closer to their grandparents, they decided to move back to the Midwest. Although not crazy about the cold, Lisa loves living in the Midwest where she once again gets to see the seasons change and enjoy fall, her favorite season.

While living in Texas Lisa gave up teaching to become a stay at home mom to Katie who is now 8 and Lauren who is 6. When she is not paper crafting, you can find her spending time at her daughter's school or involved in church activities. She loves to read and travel but doesn’t find enough time to do either.

Lisa was introduced to scrapbooking over ten years ago after a family trip. A little over two and a half years ago she truly became passionate about it, spending more time scrapbooking and submitting her work for publication. Since that time she has been fortunate to have her layouts, cards and projects published in many of the major magazines including Creating Keepsakes, Memory Makers, Cards, Paper Crafts and more. She is currently a designer for Die Cuts With A View.

Meet Melissa Phillips

She's fun, she's talented & she has graciously agreed to design for Emma's Paperie! Just wait until you see what she can do with paper, stamps and ribbon!

Melissa was born and raised in American Fork, UT. After graduating from Brigham Young University, she and her husband moved to Caliente, NV where they currently live with their 4-year old daughter, Sierra.

After the birth of her daughter, Melissa wanted to make handmade Thank You notes to send out and became hooked immediately on card making. It all spiraled from there and has become a wonderful and rewarding part of Melissa's life.

"I love creating things for other people, and I enjoy the process of working with my hands to turn ordinary paper into something heartfelt. My loves are card making and altering anything that sparks my interest. I enjoy every minute of it and I love to share my creations with those I love."

Besides paper-crafting, Melissa also enjoys horseback riding, baking, reading, playing softball, decorating, and hunting with her husband.

Melissa designs for Melissa Frances, Provo Craft, Paper Salon, and Creative Cafe©
